Southern Greens Postcard
Green anoles are small, gecko-like lizards that are native to the South. I caught this little gal catching a bit of sunshine between thunderstorms, hanging out on another southern belle: a cotton plant. While the open, white cotton boll is the classic symbol of southern agriculture, I personally find the cotton square, its predecessor, much prettier. It's all graceful curves and rich greens. Photograph taken near Houston, Texas.
