Sparkly Pāua Kiwi Bird, with Custom Name Watch
Combining a shiny, glimmering Kiwi Bird with space for a personal message or name makes this piece a wonderful gift or keepsake. The Kiwi is in the beautiful colors of the NZ Pāua shell, also known as abalone or ormer shells. These shells are multi-colored, with shimmery green and blue hues. Pāua shells are often found on New Zealand beaches and are highly treasured in Aotearoa NZ for their decorative qualities. This kiwi has a border of dark blue, and text in a complementary colour. In this piece it is simply dedicated to "Charlotte", with a slight curve in the text along the same curve of the kiwi birds shape. This can be customized and replaced with a name or text that is meaningful to you. Flightless and nocturnal kiwis, of the genus Apteryx, are endemic to New Zealand, and can also be used to refer to a New Zealander or someone with ties to Aotearoa. In this watch for kids the background has been set to a light pink to complement the sparkly pink strap.

I haven't yet gifted this watch, but I think the child will be very pleased. They always enjoy getting things with their name on it. It is a cute little watch, and should be very easy for a child to take care of. I thought the numbers seemed slightly small, but that may be because I'm used to an oversized watch. I have checked, and it is keeping perfect time. It's a great watch for a child.

I only have one complaint. I ordered the watch with clear case and strap, and what was sent was white case and strap. I'm going to keep it because 1) it looks very nice in white, and 2) it would take too long to get a replacement made and sent in time for my occasion. Aside from the mix up with the color, the watch does look very good in white. The purple dial is actually sparkly which did not show in the online images. That was a nice surprise. If you like Swatch watches this is very similar to those. It's 33.6mm in diameter, 10.5mm thick, and 40.6mm lug to lug. Stainless steel case back says 3ATM/30m WR, so no swimming or showering or submerging this one. If you like Woodstock, this is a great choice.
