Image Credit (M 012): Antique vignette of St. Raphael the Archangel and Tobias, 19th-century hand-colored engraving, original publisher unknown, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera. Tobias holds a large fish that he caught in the Tigris River at the archangel’s direction. Its various body parts were used to exorcise a demon and to cure Tobias’s father of blindness. + St. Raphael the Archangel is patron of pharmacists as well as physicians, nurses, and travelers among others. + Feast: September 29 + Green and white are the colors traditionally associated with pharmacy.
