Stephen Hopkins Mayflower Descendant Keepsake Box
Are you a descendant of Stephen Hopkins? Honor your heritage with this commemorative keepsake box for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage. Stephen Hopkins was baptized in 1581 at Upper Clatford, Hampshire, England. He sailed on Mayflower with his second wife Elizabeth Fisher, three children, and servants Edward Doty and Edward Lester. Elizabeth was pregnant when the voyage began, and she delivered a son while on board who she named Oceanus. The whole family survived the first winter, and Stephen and Elizabeth lived in Plymouth for 20 years. In 1609, a Stephen Hopkins serving as a minister's clerk on the vessel Sea Venture was found guilty of fomenting a mutiny. He was sentenced to death for the crime, but granted a pardon due to his penitence and claims of ruin to wife and family. It has been suggested that this Stephen Hopkins was the same man as the Mayflower passenger, but this has not been proven.

The wood is very smooth and feels as sleek as the tile itself. It opens and closes well. The hinges are tight, and do not wiggle the lid around. The tile is squarely set into the lid, and seems very secure as well. I plan to give this to the seller of this property at closing. He worked there all of his life, and his father before him, as well. A one-of-a-kind keepsake box where will be able to store his mementos. He is going to love it. The printing is very good. It's actually a Google street photo, and considering the source, it looks better than I thought it would. The focal point of the photo is nicely centered, and the colors are true.

This is a terrific product. I first purchased one for myself after my beloved dog died. Since then I've not only made up another for another one of my dogs who passed, now I make them up when good friends' dogs pass away. An artist friend uses photos of the pets and makes some pretty artwork that I upload to Zazzle and they are always fabulous. And you can't beat the price. These come out so pretty and the recipients are always so grateful. Here is another I had made up, and also one with the dog's collar in it.
