This is a bespoke beautiful handpainted print of the Nicobar Pigeon. It is an Endangered species found on small islands and coastal regions from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, through the Malay Archipelago, to the Solomon Islands and Palau. Direct exploitation of the species including illegal trade and diminishing habitat ls leading to their extinction. The off shore islets which it requires are often logged for plantations, destroyed by construction activity. or polluted by nearby industry or harbours - an alarming echo of the Dodo's fate. They are hunted for their gizzard stones that are often used as Jewellery. By owning a piece of this collection you will be spreading awareness on their dwindling numbers.
