Stylized Dogs Playing in Garden Accessory Pouch

In this colorful painting of a garden with stylized butterflies and flowers, one dog signals another to play. This painting by my mother, Yee Wah Jung, was done in the "Tu-Aunqua" style, a technique she learned from her mother where the design is worked out on tissue paper first, transferred onto silk fabric and then painted in oil. The term, described in an exhibit brochure, may have been a rough phonetic translation of "labor table painting" from Chinese.
