Summer Offering (1911) by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema is a vintage Victorian Era fine art romanticism floral portrait painting. Two beautiful young women holding bouquets of blooming garden rose flowers during the summer. Could be a mother and child or possibly sisters. One woman is holding a bouquet of pink roses while the other is holding a vase of white roses and wearing a garland. A third girl in the background has a garland of yellow roses on her head and she is smelling a rose. About the artist: Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836-1912) was a classical subject painter, his genre was Academicism, Neoclassicism and Romanticism. He became famous for the luxury and decadence of the Roman Empire, with languorous figures set in fabulous marbled interiors or against a backdrop of dazzling blue Mediterranean sea and sky.
