Tanzania Tarangire National Park Zebra Postcard

Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is one of the country’s most underrated safari destinations, yet it offers a rich and diverse wildlife experience. Known for its sweeping savannas, towering baobab trees, and the life-giving Tarangire River, the park is particularly famous for its large elephant herds and seasonal migrations. During the dry season, animals congregate in high numbers around the riverbanks, making wildlife viewing especially rewarding. With fewer visitors than neighboring Serengeti or Ngorongoro, Tarangire offers a more intimate and serene safari atmosphere. Among the many species found in Tarangire are the common ostriches (Struthio camelus), which roam the open plains in small groups or pairs.
