"TBD Devastator" Shot Glass

"TBD Devastator" TBD Devastator was an American torpedo bomber of the United States Navy. Ordered in 1934, it first flew in 1935 and entered service in 1937. At that point, it was the most advanced aircraft flying for the Navy and possibly for any navy in the world. However, the fast pace of aircraft development quickly caught up with it, and by the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the TBD was already outdated.

The shot glasses I received were unreadable. I spoke with Customer Service and they promised a new set of much cleaner shot glasses in a very short period of time. I have since received two notices that there is a lengthy delay in making the replacement shot glasses, but when finished they will be shipped in a single day. Currently, I am not holding my breath. The left shot glass in the photo was from a batch I ordered in March 2023. The one on the right was one of the dozen I received late July 2024.
