Tellan - Tellurium Trading Card

Tellan - Tellurium Trading Card

The wizard, Tellan represents Tellurium in The Magical Elements of the Periodic Table. With just a wave of his staff, Tellan can control and change electronic devices in ways most people can't even imagine. He can make data do what he wants, like messing with internet connections and secret codes, all just by using his Tellurium powers. Calaverite, a compound of tellurium and gold, was misidentified as a value-less 'fool's gold' leading to its disposal and use in filling potholes. Once it was realized that gold could - in fact, quite easily - be extracted from the compound, prospectors were literally digging up those streets to get it back. Workers exposed to very small quantities of tellurium in the air develop 'tellurium breath', which has a garlic-like odor. The body metabolizes this element into the extremely pungent dimethyl telluride. That terrible smell could last up to 8 months. The refining of 550 tons of copper is required to produce one pound of tellurium. One of tellurium’s earliest nicknames was “unripe gold” because it was thought that gold grew in the earth the same as plants.
