This flag was adopted on February 12, 1812, four years before Argentina declared independence from Spain (1816). The "Sun of May" design was added to the flag in 1818. The "Sun of May" is a replica of an engraving on the first Argentine coin, approved in 1813 and is the national emblem of Argentina and Uraguay.

AMAZING! I love the quality of this flag and it is right on point with our branding! Also, the pole is beautiful and the holder made of metal, not cheap plastic. I had to add a grommet to the top so I could use the clip to keep flag extended on pole - perhaps this was an oversight? Overall thrilled! .
