The Great Wave Off Kanagawa Japanese Woodblock Throw Pillow

This striking, iconic piece is "Kanagawa Oki Nami Ura" (The Wave, or, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa), by Katsushika Hokusai. This print is the most well-known of its series, "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji". An interesting thing to note is that due to the nature of Japanese woodblock art, slight differences occurred in prints as the woodblocks eventually wore down. So, if you ever find yourself looking at a woodblock print and feeling as though it seems different somehow - you're probably just looking at a different impression/print of the actual woodblock/s, or occasionally even from an entirely different set of blocks.
