The Quiet Spot Poster

This hand-painted acrylic canvas, In The Quiet Spot, was created by our daughter and submitted for the For Arts Sake Awards, where it was selected to be displayed in two Melbourne galleries. In her own words: “In The Quiet Spot, I wanted to capture the feeling of comfort above anything else. It is an acrylic painting of a creature traveling through a dark forest, finding home after a long expedition. It represents having a place to go even after everything else becomes dark. This piece was made to emphasise hope after a tiring journey.” What makes this painting special is the way it transforms a shadowed, mysterious forest into a place of light and belonging. The warmly lit cottage, set against the towering trees, becomes a symbol of hope, safety, and rest after hardship. It reflects her imagination, storytelling, and ability to communicate emotion through color and texture. In The Quiet Spot is not only a work of art but also a reminder that even in darkness, comfort and home can be found.
