The Scream by Edvard Munch Crossbody Bag

Edvard Munch (1863-1944) was a Norwegian artist.He created four versions of The Scream as paintings and pastels between 1893 and 1910. The Scream depicts a somewhat strange looking person with a painful facial expression standing on a walkway with two people in the background.Dark blue swirling waters and a fiery red and orange sky are also part of Munch’s composition. A pastel version sold for close to 120 million dollars at Sotheby’s auction house in 2012. In his diary,Munch described his inspiration for the painting: ‘One evening I was walking along a path.The city was on one side and the fjord below.I felt tired and ill.I stopped and looked out over the fjord.The sun was setting and the clouds turning blood red.I sensed a scream passing through nature.It seemed to me that I heard the scream.I painted this picture,painted the clouds as actual blood.The colour shrieked.This became The Scream’
