The Battle of Austerlitz, fought on December 2, 1805, is often regarded as one of Napoleon Bonaparte's greatest victories and a masterpiece of military strategy. It took place near the town of Austerlitz in the Austrian Empire (modern-day Slavkov u Brna in the Czech Republic) during the War of the Third Coalition.
