Think Pink Sundial Bridge Postcard

Each year my city participates in an community effort to promote breast cancer awareness. The committee & volunteers work tirelessly year round to find sponsors, run the store, secure donations and more. Each year in July, members of the community are honored withe privilege of entering a photo contest in which the lucky winners will have their images shared in a calendar. The contest closes in the same month, the committee votes for their favorites and winners will be announced leading up to "Think Pink Day" in mid October. During this time, the "Think Pink Bags" are being stuffed and filled with that include the Breast Cancer Awareness Calendar, Breast Self-Examination Shower Card, American Cancer Society Guidelines and often other items depending on budget and donations like, pens, decals, a pink carnation and more. The day starts before sunrise, with staff and volunteers arriving at planned locations (which are always beautifully decorated and lit up so nobody will miss it) where they will gather the hundreds of giveaway bags and form a line to hand out these bags. Later in the evening, hundreds of people all gather at the Sundial Bridge where they will find music, educational booths, testimonials and more that will help everyone remember to Think Pink and raise awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection. • Camera: Nikon D70 • Lens: AF-S NIKKOR 18-70mm Thank you for taking time to look {:O)
