The Thunderbird (Wakinyan), part of the thunder beings, was one of the first creatures in the universe. Lakota mythology describes these creatures as bird-like, who had a voice like thunder, and eyes of lightning. This Thunderbird governs weather, clouds, and rain. Stories tell of them coming to the rescue of the people in times of trouble. They are considered so powerful, that they are able to give or take life. It is believed that the Wakinyan sees everything backward. So if a man has a vision of a Wakinyan, he is considered Heyoka (opposite to nature) and must fulfill a ritual for a certain time that involves doing everything backward. During this time they are considered very mysterious and powerful. To have Wakinyan on your side means great power.

The bandana itself is very durable. It stands washing cycles very well. Also the bandana is quite warm when worn around the neck. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the material and the quality of the product. The design is excellent quality. Printed exactly as it is shown online with crisp lines and great detail. I was a little surprised when the bandana colors came out slightly darker than what was shown but taking into account the dye sublimation printing process and type of material I'm not disappointed. I'm very satisfied with the printed results.

The circle containing Gaia is great for laying out tarot and oracle cards; the animals create a frame surrounding the cards. I'm excited to use this cloth for my altar as well. Whenever I see this cloth, it makes me smile and appreciate the natural beauty within this world. The printing quality is fantastic and reflects the coloration and saturation from the image. I love how soft and large these cloths are.

The scarf fabric is soft and easy to fold, stays in place. The scarf holds a knot firmly but easy to un-knot when needed. The stitching is tight and no loose threads were visible at the seams. The printing color is true to the online image. Only one side is printed but I like that because it will be used folded in half at an angle. When folded, the full design is visible. Designed so that either side can be used in the triangle shape, neither side will have the image upside down.
