The Tokugawa clan (徳川) was a powerful daimyo family of Japan, known for the daimyo Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan, which effectively ruled Japan from the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 until the Meiji Restoration in 1868. This is the kamon (family crest/emblem) of the Tokugawa clan, triple hollyhock. Below the crest is "Tokugawa" in kanji.
