Toyotomi Hideyoshi Ruler of World Calligraphy Art Denim Jacket

豊臣秀吉: Toyotomi Hideyoshi, was a preeminent daimyo, warrior, general, samurai, and politician of the Sengoku period who is regarded as Japan's second "great unifier" after Oda Nobunaga. He succeeded his former liege lord, Oda Nobunaga, and brought an end to the Warring Lords period. The period of his rule is often called the Momoyama period, named after Hideyoshi's castle. After his death, his young son Hideyori was displaced by Tokugawa Ieyasu. 天下人: Tenkabito, Ruler of the World, it is a word derived from Tenkafubu (天下布武) or "Rule the world by force", which "Tenka" is the world, and "bito" is people, Hideyoshi was called Tenkabito once he succesfully unified Japan and gained the position of Kampaku (Imperial Regent). 太閤: Taiko, is a title given to a retired Kampaku, he is often referred as Taiko is Catholic sources of the time in Japan. In the background is the kamon (family crest) of Toyotomi, Goshichi no kiri (五七桐) or "Five Seven Paulownia", on top is the helmet of Hideyoshi, with a decorationan in the shape of leaves of the baran forming a nimbus around the head, and at the bottom is the samurai signature of Hideyoshi.
