Traditional Pagan Latvian folk art with symbols Wrapping Paper

Traditional Pagan Latvian folk art with symbols Wrapping Paper

Mother Nature has always inspired Latvian folk art, which is rich in symbolism and blessings. Marvel at the beauty, mastery, and coded messages of traditional folk art from Latvia. In the center sits the Well sign or Year sign that symbolizes 12 months of the year, crossed by the diagonal cross that speaks of movement. Four Māra's crosses (cross of crosses) symbolize the dynamics of the physical world. Four doubled Jumja signs, or Toads, create a balance between the material and spiritual world. All of them are embraced in a Squared Sun (rhombus), creating a protective field from which are growing out Austra's trees (Trees of life) - giving/attracting new information, ideas and growth. In the corners are Sun signs symbolizing eternal movement and life. The symbolism of colors: Green - willpower, the thread of life, confidence. Red- the energy of life, activity, success. Yellow - happiness, sunlight, warmth, and hope. Original painting by Brigita Ektermane. Want more? Check out other designs in the store ;)

I am making a line of mini (27 inches) 1950's retro dresses. I have used this paper and overlaid it with with Sanwa Tissue paper airbrushed to match. I am pleased with the way it turned out and now have ordered other papers to use in my paper dress collection. The color was solid and well absorbed
