True Religion Magnet

This photo was taken while I was visiting Jacksonville, FL back in 2008. This is Al. He was homeless and sleeping in the sanctuary of an outdoor veteran's memorial on the coastline. I had very little to offer, but he needed what I had more than I did. It was an honor to bless him with food, water and a chance to tell his story. Most of all, it was an amazing conversation about how much God loved him regardless of his mistakes in life. Upon hearing this, he felt a new spring in his step. I asked if I could take his picture to remember him and keep him in my prayers. As he posed, I simply asked him to smile like he'd just been blessed by God. In my heart, Al is the quintessential representation of God's love in action. We are all in need at some point, or will be. We are all called to love each other and value each other just as Al is as valuable as our President, our CEO's, our neighbors and our loved ones. I keep this magnet on my fridge to remind myself every day of what truly matters in life: loving each other outside the limits.
