Unalaska Island Scenery 2012 Calendar

The photos used for this calendar were taken from various locations on Unalaska Island. The front cover offers a view Captain's Bay with icebergs and a view of Bunker Hill with Ballyhoo Mountain behind it. January has a photo of the City of Unalaska and Dutch Harbor, Alaska taken from the end of the eastern valley. In the distant west, the snow covered Makushin Mountains are visible across Unalaska Bay. February offers a photo of Pyramid Mountain, which is a landmark located on the eastern shore of Captain's Bay. This calendar offers a pictoral record of the changes the island goes through as the seasons pass. In summer, Unalaska Island is an emerald in the sea. In winter, Unalaska Island becomes a castle of ice and snow covered mountains. Unalaska Island is a part of the Aleutian Islands which extend westward from the Alaskan penninsula. Unalaska Island is home to the largest community in the Aleutian Islands.
