The Alhambra and Generalife contain all the known artistic techniques of the Hispano-Muslim world between the 13th and 15th centuries. The Albayzín district is the best-preserved illustration of a Hispano-Muslim city in the South of Spain, particularly formed during the Nasrid dynasty. The Generalife was a summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid rulers of the Emirate of Granada in Al-Andalus. It was most likely constructed at the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. After the end of the Reconquista and the beginning of Spanish Christian rule in Granada, it underwent various changes and additions from the 16th century up the 20th century.
