The Maramureș churches are high timber constructions with characteristic tall, slim bell towers at the western end of the building. They are a particular vernacular expression of the cultural landscape of this mountainous area of northern Romania. The Church of the Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple was built in 1720 and it features some of the most representative baroque indoor murals in Maramureş. It has a collection of icons painted on glass and old religious books.
