Urania's Mirror, Vintage Astronomy Celestial Map

Vintage illustration astronomy and antique celestial constellation Perseus. Perseus is carrying the head of Medusa the Gorgon. Medusa has snakes on her head instead of hair. Perseus is a constellation in the northern sky, named after the Greek hero Perseus. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union. It contains the famous variable star Algol (β Per), and is also the location of the radiant of the annual Perseids meteor shower. Algol (β Per) is not the brightest star of this constellation, but it definitely is its most famous star. Algol (The Ghoul or The Demon Star) represents the eye of the gorgon Medusa.

I love how my "Happy Pupcrossing!" postcard turned out! It's so pretty! Zazzle prints top notch postcards and greeting cards! This postcard is available in my online Zazzle shop without the text on it if you're not a Postcrosser. The easiest way to find my Zazzle shop is through my associate link which is located on the navigation bar of my artist website Ink Goes Wild Alaska. I earn a little extra profit when you use that link. Corinne Danzl Ink Goes Wild Alaska.
