Vincent van Gogh - Green Vineyard Button

The Green Vineyard, painted in 1888 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Arles. Van Gogh painted the vineyard in a single day near Montmajour during a period of intense work. Small grape pickers, carts and red parasols animate a broad field of green, purple and yellow vines beneath a bright blue sky. He wrote with excitement about the exceptional beauty of the landscape and later told Theo that the demanding study had cost him enormous effort, yet he was satisfied that he had captured it.
