About This Design

Vincent van Gogh - The Night Cafe Large Clock

Vincent van Gogh - The Night Cafe Large Clock

The Night Café (Le Café de nuit), painted in 1888 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Arles. The interior is the Café de la Gare in Arles, shown under harsh gaslight with a green billiard table, red walls and scattered late-night customers. Van Gogh deliberately used clashing reds and greens to convey the unsettling atmosphere he associated with the place. He worked on the picture over several nights and even inscribed its title beneath his signature.

Great price for a very nice product. Arrived a day early - unheard of these days. The outside gold area has a little more orange tone to it than shown in the picture. Great packing so product can't get damaged. I used the same packing to forward the clock to my brother and sister-on-law for the 50th wedding anniversary. Printing was just as expected - lovely!
