Advice on the Prairie (1853) by WT Ranney is a vintage American West fine art painting featuring an average pioneer daily life scene on the prairie with a family and their pet dogs around the camp fire. They are traveling through the wild west with their covered wagons driven by horses. About the artist: William Tylee Ranney (1813-1857) was a 19th century American painter. His paintings reflect many different genres, including everyday Western life, for which he is renowned. Ranney is regarded as one of the most important pre Civil War American painters. His paintings are highly prized by art collectors.
