Vintage Blue Horse personalized Gift Apron

Blue Horse II. German: Blaues Pferd II (1911). A blue horse hovers against an incredible colored lanscape. The horse is standing still but a strong gust of wind seems to be blowing to its tail and through the landscape. The horse is of an impressive size its blue color recalls the color of yearning of romanticism. Since the horse is presented from behind, the gaze of the viewer moves in the same direction as gaze of the horse, this reflects franz Marc's attempt to empathize with the soul of the animal. It is as if we are experiencing the world from the perspective of the horse. Franz Marc, (1880-1916), German painter and printmaker was intensely fascinated by the world of animals and felt a strong bond to them. His mature works mostly depict animals, and are known for bright colouration. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter (“The Blue Rider”), an association of German Expressionist artists.
