Open Range (1942) by Maynard Dixon is a vintage American West fine art landscape painting. A cowboy rancher riding his horse on the plains of the southwest. He is herding his cows, bulls and cattle on the prairie. Large white clouds fill the sky over the open farm fields and the mesas.
About the artist:
Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) was a noted American artist whose body of work focused on the American Wild West. In 1900 Dixon visited Arizona and New Mexico.
