Vintage - Fairies with Baby in Cradle,

This is a vintage book illustration from a Danish fairy tale called "White Cat" about an enchanted princess. Fairies surround a sleeping baby in a cradle. A line from the story says, "I was accordingly laid in a cradle of mother-of-pearl ornamented with gold and jewels." The artist, Warwick Goble (1862-1943), was an English illustrator who was influenced by Japanese watercolor techniques. He is most famous for his children’s books and fairy book illustrations. Card is blank inside for your own message.
