About This Design

Vintage Flapper with Flowers,

Vintage Flapper with Flowers,

A vintage illustration by Sergio Bompard of a flapper from the 1920s in a dress with a two-tiered skirt of red, pink and white vertical striped fabric. The top of the dress, which bares her arms and shoulders, is black with a little black bow on the thin straps over each shoulder. A large, pouf of a black bow is in the back at her waist. She wears blood red high heels and a black cloche hat decorated with red flowers. In her arms are fresh cut pink and red roses. The Italian artist, Sergio Bompard, is a mystery as far as his life. Little is known about him and little is published online about him except that he was a prolific artist who specialized in illustrations for magazines and postcards during the World War I era. His subject matter was primarily beautiful women of the time, however, he also painted romantic couples, art deco style illustrations of women in the latest fashions (often with greyhound dogs), as well as children. I love how my "Happy Pupcrossing!" postcard turned out! It's so pretty! Zazzle prints top notch postcards and greeting cards! This postcard is available in my online Zazzle shop without the text on it if you're not a Postcrosser. The easiest way to find my Zazzle shop is through my associate link which is located on the navigation bar of my artist website Ink Goes Wild Alaska. I earn a little extra profit when you use that link. Corinne Danzl Ink Goes Wild Alaska.
