I have altered it in Photoshop by digitally restoring and skilfully enhancing it by removing imperfections in the paper and by applying a neutral, slightly antique-ed around edges background. • Original author of this gorgeous illustration is Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 - 1840), a painter and botanist from Belgium, known for his watercolours of roses, lilies and other flowers at Château de Malmaison. He was nicknamed "the Raphael of flowers" and has been called the greatest botanical illustrator of all time.
