VINTAGE MADONNA AND CHRIST CHILD postcard. Mary in Blue Robe holding the Christ Child. A most beautiful painting. Perfect for Christmas or any time of year. I always liked this painting but only recently got any information about it. The way I found out was this. I found a decent resolution of it and created a poster as large as I could with it then posted that online then did a picture search with that image and went through the results most which were different but similar images. ... most were other Madonna and Christ Child paintings. Then, I found this:

BARON CARL VON BLAAS THE ELDER (April 28, 1815 - March 19, 1894) SIGNED AND DATED ROM (ROME) 1847
Student of Venice Academy 1832 - 1837.
"AND IN HIM SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED" English translation from Latin title taken from the Bible (Psalm 72:17 or Genesis 22:18 ... The latter a promise made to Abraham. The former a song from David to his son Solomon ... with hints of a Messianic prophecy.
What I see in the Latin: "BENEDI CENTUR IN IPSO OMNES TRIBUS TERRAE".
My google translator gives: "ALL THE TRIBES OF THE LAND WILL BE BLESSED IN HIM".
Original was 17 1/3" x 33 1/2".

Even though the product was a Holidsy Postcard, I was able to use the card by personalizing it for a Memorial Celebration of Life card for a Luncheon I had for my ex- husband. I customized and purchased this post card to send to family and friends for the holidays. I was able to insert my own photo and resize accordingly. I chose the postcard option as it was most cost efficient and only requires a .32 cent stamp (which I also purchased from Zazzle). I took advantage of the discounts available online and got a head start to the holiday season! The print came out great! Very good quality paper/cardstock and printing resolution. The image I selected worked perfectly for the format of the card and picture quality is excellent! Overall, I am extremely happy with the final product and plan to use Zazzle for future printing orders.
