Vintage New Years Birds Coffee Mug

Antique New Years Birds Isn't this a great vintage bird image? It's a vintage New Years postcard, from 1906. Those Victorians! They sent cards for every holiday -- no excuse was too small to send greetings. Back in the day, New Years postcards were just as common as Christmas cards. This vintage New Years image is exceptional -- there are two beautiful birds sitting on an evergreen branch. One of the vintage birds is holding a four-leaf clover, as if to say -- good luck in the new year. The detail is gorgeous. The little winter birds have black heads and tails, a doppled black and white back, and a bright red breast. As close as I can tell, it's probably a black-headed Grosbeack, or maybe a combination of birds. The cards next to the Grosbeaks say "January 1" "Loving New Year Wishes" … This gorgeous gift is just perfect for the vintage bird lover in your life -- especially for your loved ones who love antique images of unusual winter birds such as the beautiful Grosbeak.
