Vintage Pirate Life Wyeth Illustration Throw Pillow

Vintage 1921 Magazine Pirate A stunning gift, this Life Magazine cover from 1921 is titled "Stand and Deliver" -- illustrated by famed N.C. Wyeth. The cover portrays a band if pirates, swords up toward the flag bearing a skull and crossbones. Arrgh! This is a great gift for a pirate fan! About Wyeth's Pirates The Stand and Deliver original oil on Canvas was sold recently for $2,032,000, the first painting for the artist that broke the $1 million barrier at auction. This image of pirates was on the cover of Life Magazine's September 1921 issue. Wyeth was known to paint many pirates, which he also painted for other magazines and in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. This pirate illustration is among his most dramatic. The original Stand and Deliver painting was estimated to sell between $1 and $1.5 million in the recent Sotheby's auction, but sold for more -- purchased by an anonymous buyer for $2,032,000. About NC Wyeth At 21 years old, N.C. Wyeth created his first illustration for the Post in 1903. By 1911, he got his first book commission for Treasure Island. Thus his illustrious career included valiant and heroic character illustrations for 4,000 magazines and books. In addition to pirate illustrations, NC Wyeth's art included American Westerns, knights, boy's adventure books, and other classics. Talk like a Pirate International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) is a fun holiday that started in 1995 -- this "new" pirate holiday is celebrated on September 19 each year. What do you do on Talk Like A Pirate Day? Everyone in the world should talk like a pirate! Instead of saying, "Hello," you should greet people with, "Ahoy, matey!

Fabric is very nice and of good quality. I like that there are many colors to choose from and you can have a different color on the back side if you choose. The pillow was to be 16" x 16" but ran a bit small. (14.5") Still happy just recommend you get a larger size . Design came out great. Colors were vivid and the overall quality is quite nice. Will definately order again. Highly recommend because it not only shipped super fast but overall I love the results!

I wanted something special for my daughter. I made this for my baby and she will have this in her crib when she is born. It was not pixelated. The picture was very very clear.0

This pillow has a striking design that comes from an original piece of art by artist Debbie Gibbs to celebrate the intersection of identities. It makes a unique gift for anyone wishing to message equality, inclusion, equity and justice. Placed just so in an office or home, it makes a strong statement. We love i on our covered patio/outdoor kitchen. It is holding up very well outside. Outstanding print quality!
