Vintage Red French Rose Thank You Notes

This image of a tulip comes from a 19th century edition of William Curtis's Botanical Magazine. Behind it is an essay on flowers by the Victorian writer Clara Balfour. Note on the Background Text This handwritten text is from an antique record ledger which we found at a New Hampshire flea market some 40 years ago. The title page of the Journal is signed A. Johnson, "The Cold Water Advocate, A Journal Advocating Temperance in all Things." Other documents (grocery store ledgers) in the same old set of papers came from the town of Sutton, New Hampshire.
