Vintage ‘Roses and Bumblebees’ Throw Pillow

“Roses and Bumblebees”, 1906; Painting by Paul de Longpre. Paul-Gaston-Raoul-Henry-Georges Marcherat de Longpre, 1855-1911, was born in France to a family of artists and participated in the family tradition of flower painting from his earliest childhood. He came to the United States in 1890 and lived in New York for several years and established himself as a painter of flowers subjects. In 1899 he moved his family to Los Angles, California where he lived until his death in 1911. He choose to devote his life and career to painting flowers, most often in highly detailed, elegant watercolors.
