Vintage - Searching for Love on Halloween, Card

A vintage Halloween card image and verse depicts one of the Halloween rituals that Victorians performed if they were single and looking for their future spouse and true love. There were many varying parlor games played by the Victorians at Halloween parties and gatherings that were based on finding love and matching up unmarried men and women. This card's image is of someone dressed as a court jester for Halloween who is outdoors blowing a tuft of hair into the wind. Bats circle above and a witch rides a broom across the face of the full moon. The verse on the front of the card: "Halloween - Go out alone at midnight, pluck out a lock of hair, send it on the evening breeze, to find your love one fair. The way it takes to flying is where your love is sighing." The message inside the card: "We’re all searching for someone whose demons play well with ours."
