Vintage William Morris Snakeshead Pillar Candle
The floral print decorating this product is called Snakeshead. It was designed by William Morris as a floral block printed fabric in 1876 and printed for Morris and Company by Thomas Wardle who was one of the most knowledgeable textile historians of the late 19th century. Morris and Company was founded by William Morris in 1875. The company produced textiles commercially for sale in two London shops.
