Virgin of Guadalupe, Reproduction of an Antique Painting by Manuel Arellano in 1691 Images that were closer to the original were believed to be more miraculous and were therefore more valued. The Virgin is surrounded by rays of light and surrounded by flowers. Four small pictures on the corners that show aspects of her apparition story with Juan Diego at the hill of Tepeyac, north of Mexico City. Early paintings such as this one which closely resembles the original were and are highly valued. The original belongs to the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and may be viewed at LACMA.
