Virgo inter Virgines (M 070) Patch

Virgo inter Virgines (M 070) Patch

The artwork known as the Virgo inter Virgines was painted by an anonymous artist dubbed by scholars The Master of the Legend of St. Lucy (fl. ca. 1485). According to archival sources, the painting was installed in the Church of Our Lady (Dutch: Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) in Bruges, Belgium, in 1489 on the altar of the Rhetoric Chamber of the Three Saints (De drie Sanctinnen): SS. Barbara, Catherine of Alexandria, and Mary Magdalene. Rhetoric chambers were civic societies for the promotion of the literary arts and were very popular during the Renaissance in the Low Countries. + At the center of the painting, the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) and infant Jesus are enthroned. Behind them, two angels support an ornate tapestry of honor. Two groups of virgin saints, most of them 3rd-4th century Late Antique Roman martyrs, flank the throne. On the left, reading clockwise from the painting’s lower left-hand corner, are SS. Ursula, Apollonia, Lucy, Cecilia(?), Catherine of Alexandria, and Mary Magdalene. On the right, reading clockwise from the BVM’s elbow, are SS. Barbara, Margaret of Antioch, Agatha, Christina of Bolsena, and Agnes. [Additional information about individual saints is to be found in the descriptions accompanying their greeting cards or postcards.] + Image Credit (M 070): Virgo inter Virgines [in Latin; La Vierge parmi les vierges in French; The Virgin among Virgins in English], by The Master of the Legend of St. Lucy (fl. c. 1435-1506/1509), oil on oak panel, 67.3"x42.5" (171 cm x 108 cm), c. 1488, Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, inv. 2576. Heart 2" Heart, Red Stitching, Iron-On
I bought my boyfriend a pair of jorts to celebrate his graduation, to which I ironed on this high-quality, beautiful patch! I used my premium subscription with the BeautyPlus App to change one of our graduation photos into a cartoon depiction, which I was then easily able to transfer into Zazzle's custom sizer. I used a straightening iron to easily apply the heart-shaped patch to the inside of the waistband. It stuck like a charm! Now every time my boyfriend puts on his jeans, he can think of us! The patch arrived within a few business days with no issue. I'm super happy with my purchase!

Circle 2.5" Circle, White Stitching, Iron-On
Very happy. The patch is sublimated, not embroidered so this works better with simpler designs and/or larger patches. These turned out fantastic with smaller names on a 4 inch patch. The edges are embroidered, no loose threads. The colors are nice. Shipping was faster than predicted, about 10 days, for 11 unique custom patches. (His full name was centered, I tried to edit out his last name so it looks wonky on here, but was perfect.).

Heart 2" Heart, Red Stitching, Iron-On
I customized this heart-shaped patch to iron on a pair of jeans I had bought my boyfriend, and it turned out to be such a sentimental relationship gift! The patch arrived within a few business days, and it proves durable through washes. I was most impressed by the high quality of the customized piece, as I sized my photo smaller to capture the background details of the venue the photo was taken at. I can even see my boyfriend's glasses! It was easy to transfer and manipulate my photo within Zazzle's photo sizer. I'm not one to take the time to write reviews, but I'm just super happy with my purchase! I attached a photo of the patch next to nail polish and a mini Coke can for size reference. .
