The W&H DuCoil was a premium ignition system that utilized two ignition coils triggered by two separate points, within one distributor housing; wired separately (unlike other dual-point systems that use a single coil). In the case of, lets say, your typical V8 engine, it actually acted as two separate four-cylinder engines. It was the hot ticket in the late 50's and early 60's for rodders and racers that needed more coil saturation time for hot spark at the higher RPM's that the newer OHV V8's were now capable of. Short of having a Magneto, this was THE ignition system to have.
