Wadokei Japanese Clock White Face Black Kanji
This watch's face has been designed like the Edo Japanese clocks called Wadokei. Although these clocks didn't work the same way as their Western counterpart (the hours varied during the year according to the seasons) it has been adapted for a normal reading. The outer kanji (or Japanese characters) are the twelve Japaneze Zodiac symbols and the inner ones are the kanji numerals from four to nine. During the Edo Jidai, their combination showed the current hour.

Great price for a very nice product. Arrived a day early - unheard of these days. The outside gold area has a little more orange tone to it than shown in the picture. Great packing so product can't get damaged. I used the same packing to forward the clock to my brother and sister-on-law for the 50th wedding anniversary. Printing was just as expected - lovely!

My 93- yr. old Dad has everything.....and now including a clock with pictures of him in action!
Was initially a bit difficult to size & position the pictures in each space, but the end product was worth the effort. He enjoyed it and it was definitely a unique way of memorializing good times in his life. Quality of print was good.
