This Valkyrie painting is a great piece of fantasy art for anyone who loves legends, mythology, opera, and drama. In the German folk legend "The Ring of the Nibelungs," the beautiful Valkyrie Brünnhilde riders her horse, Grane, into the fire. In Wagner's "Ring" cycle this scene is called Brünnhilde's Immolation Scene. This is a painting of the heroic Valkyrie by the great British illustrator Arthur Rackham.
