About This Design

War Is Peace Mug

War Is Peace Mug

This INGSOC propaganda poster design (on the mug) is inspired by the powerful creative insight of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four. We just tried to imagine what Winston Smith might see walking down the street in Airstrip One in Oceania. This design is one of a series focusing on the INGSOC Party slogan "War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength."

This is a gorgeous mug that makes me feel as though I am outdoors in my Hosta garden, on a beautiful day in Spring! The printing is lovely and sharp just like my painting. I shall be displaying this mug at an exhibition soon!
