Waterhouse dedicated multiple paintings to Hamlet’s doomed heroine Ophelia. This early painting features the girl wearing a light blue dress with gold embroidery and jeweled bracelets. Ophelia’s hair is auburn and adorned with dark red flowers. She sits at the edge of a pond full of water lilies with daisies in her lap. A great gift for fans of J.W.
