John William Waterhouse The Lady of Shalott invitations. Oil painting on canvas from 1888. The Lady of Shalott is a beautiful Pre-Raphaelite painting of a scene from Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem of the same name. The painting depicts the doomed Lady of Shalott sailing towards Camelot in a small boat draped with a beautiful red tapestry she wove while falling in love with Lancelot. In the boat sit three candles and a crucifix from which the girl looks away. The lady herself is clothed in a flowing light blue medieval dress embroidered with gold. Her hair is light auburn and she holds the chain of the boat as it presses away from the dock into the reeds and lily pads beyond. A great gift for fans of John William Waterhouse, the Pre-Raphaelites, Romantic English painting, and Arthurian Legend.

I am absolutely in love with the way my invites looks, the mom was unbelievably surprised and grateful. We were wary of sending off for a mail in shower, but step one was to personalize it... we started with these invitations. The printing was great; no errors... HOWEVER the writing on the back of the invitation turned out upside down... I’m a bit persnickety, so this bothered me.
The writing on the back appeared to be right-side-up on the preview, so this is something I’ll have to look into more carefully when using zazzleblack.

This is the second time I’ve ordered, and it’s just as good as the first. Thick, high quality paper stock, small enough so that it fits in with shipping small paintings, and what I like the most is that it comes with advice on how to care for the painting which is so valuable since many buyers aren’t aware of. I prefer a minimalist look, so I skipped any logos and all the printing was in black. The printing quality was excellent.
