    Textile design, 1915-23, pencil and watercolor. Charles Rennie Mackintosh, 1868 - 1928 was a Scottish architect, designer, watercolorist, and sculptor. He was a designer in the Arts and Crafts movement and also the main exponent of Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom. He had a considerable influence on European design. When you first look at this design it appears to be very dark, but upon closer inspection you see the rich detail and vibrant colors; tightly spaced white dots run up and down the black waves and the vibrant pink and green colors glow like perfectly placed jewels in this unique piece.
