A radiant ultra-luminous infrared galaxy resulting from a merger, is situated 250 million light-years away in the Serpens constellation. Its luminosity, dwarfing our Milky Way, is captured by the James Webb Space Telescope, making it an ideal study object. The merger ignited significant star formation within a densely packed region, evidenced by numerous star clusters and supernova remnants. The galaxy's cores, observed by the Hubble Space Telescope, emit remarkable infrared light. Furthermore, features like blue tidal tails and reddish-orange formations in Arp 220 visually document the ongoing galactic dance and the presence of organic material.
